The second annual community shred-a-thon was held on Oct. 21 in Downtown Ocotillo. People dropped off their sensitive documents for safe disposal and said hello to the Chandler Fire and Police Departments. The event was sponsored by the Kari Zurn Team, the Amy Nelson Team and the Craig Lloyd Agency.

Three middle schoolers took top honors at the Break Out of the Box Challenge on Nov. 4. Thirty-four students entered the design-and-build challenge, in which they received a box of materials and instructions to build whatever they imagined. CK Valenti Designs of Chandler hosted the event.
