Meet Cynthia Hardy, Gina LaBenz and Chantal VanKlompenberg
Around town, Cynthia Hardy, Gina LaBenz and Chantal VanKlompenberg are known as the “Power Triplets,” a term coined by Gina. Although they each also have their own favorite causes that they volunteer for separately, the three friends can often be found volunteering together.
“Chantal, Gina and I enjoy volunteering with each other,” Cynthia says. “As a team, we always get the work done. As the ‘power triplets,’ as Gina termed us, we are extremely dedicated and very passionate about Chandler and its community initiatives.”
Chantal, a Realtor who is also finishing a communications degree at ASU, volunteers with organizations and causes such as the City of Chandler Operation Backpack, iCAN’s Stuffed with Love, Project Humanities, clothing the homeless, teen sex trafficking awareness, and much more.
“I started volunteering to be a good role model for my children and to be involved with my community. I continue to volunteer to give back and provide for others who are in need,” she says.
Cynthia is driven to volunteer to “ignite encouragement and inspire residents of all ages to discover their community.”
A few of her favorite places to volunteer include the City of Chandler’s Housing and Human Services Commission Board as a mayor’s appointed volunteer commissioner, Chandler Diversity Office events, Chandler-Tullamore Sister Cities as a board member, the CCYSA-Chandler-Gilbert Taskforce, and others.
When Gina, the author of “Anchor Moments: Hope, Healing, and Forgiveness,” isn’t writing, you can find her volunteering at places including CeCe’s Hope Center, ICAN, For Our City Chandler, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and StreetlightUSA, to name just a few.
“Nobody gets very far without the help of others in some way. My ‘why’ is to make a difference. It brings me great joy to know I have helped someone!”
