Test your knowledge of nature while exploring Veterans Oasis Park

Chandler Parks & Recreation is making it cool to be an outsider, giving park-goers great reason to get outside and explore the natural world around them. Agents of Discovery joined forces with Parks & Recreation and is on a mission to bring educational, interactive gaming to regional and community parks across Chandler.

An educational app that facilitates the gamification of environmental sciences, Agents of Discovery blends tech and nature into fresh-air fun for families.

“Learning is no longer confined to the textbook; children and adults want to learn in ways that are engaging,” explains Joe Petrella, recreation manager. “In the spirit of playful learning, our latest programs are transforming our parks into outdoor classrooms where imaginations can run wild.”

Super sleuths can partner with the City’s Agent Kestrel (your Field Guide) to rescue the stolen robotic USBees, who store knowledge of nature and science. The fate of nature rests in your hands, without the return of the USBees exploration of the natural world around us would cease to exist. Once you’ve completed the challenges within the mission, return to headquarters—cleverly disguised as the Environmental Education Center—and claim accolades and a reward.

New missions are unveiled periodically and each mission features a new theme, learning objective, and a different collectable prize.

Sign on to help Agent Kestrel by downloading the app from the iPhone App Store or Google Play. For more information on the Agents of Discovery, visit ChandlerAZ.gov/agentsofdiscovery.
