Now in its third year, the Chandler International Film Festival (CIFF) is right around the corner. The unique and pioneering festival makes downtown Chandler ground zero for filmmakers, celebrities, industry experts and film fans of all stripes from Jan. 17-21. Over these five days, CIFF will screen over 200 diverse films from passionate, independent global filmmakers—but it’s about much more than entertainment.

The Red Carpet Opening Ceremony, special World Premiere Shows, Filmmaking workshops, discussion panels and Film Market & Expo offer networking opportunities for financiers, distributors, students and film buffs alike. Downtown Chandler’s hottest clubs and restaurants will host nightly after-parties, and the festival culminates in a grand Awards Ceremony to be held at the Chandler Center for the Arts on Jan. 21.

“While we were looking for locations to host our festival, Chandler really stood out from the competition,” says festival Founder & Director Mitesh Patel. “Since we’ve gotten started, the city, Downtown Chandler Community Partnership, Chamber of Commerce, local business owners and members of this tight-knit community have truly welcomed us with open arms.”

The warm reception prompted Patel to make Chandler the permanent home for the festival, and he envisions the annual event as a centerpiece of the city’s burgeoning art scene for years to come.

The Chandler International Film Festival partnered with Chandler’s Multicultural Festival, which is held the same weekend. Attendees of the Multicultural Festival will be treated to free film screenings on Jan. 19 at the Chandler Downtown Stage. These family-friendly screenings will feature a multicultural theme and are open to all with lawn seating, so bring a blanket.

Whether you’re into indie films or hot celebrity sightings, you won’t want to miss this year’s exciting event. The 2019 Chandler International Film Festival is open to the public. Five-day festival passes, VIP passes, and tickets to individual screenings can be purchased in advance at ChandlerFilmFestival.com
