On My List... 19

Check out what four locals have on their gift-giving lists this year

John and Brigid Hornacek

John and Brigid Hornacek met five years ago, marrying in March 2016. Between the two of them, they own four businesses: two Hornacek’s House of Golf stores (one in Scottsdale and one in Chandler), one men’s clothing store, and a blow dry bar called Primp and Blow in Paradise Valley. They also have three dogs and two cats. Says the couple: “We opened in Chandler because there was a void for a good golf store and men’s apparel store. We LOVE Chandler and Gilbert—Brigid was born here, and John moved here in 1992 from suburbs of Chicago.”

On our gift-giving list this year:

PXG hat, New Era, a great gift for the golfer; $40.

PXG cart bag (the best bag made for the golfer who has everything); $450.

Mizzen and Main dress shirt, performance dress shirts (stretch, no iron, no steaming, no dry cleaning) that are great for travel; $125.

GG blue women’s golf outfit, great clothing for the women who wants style and performance; $85 shirt, $95 skirt.

All at Hornacek’s Golf, 4975 S. Alma School Road, 480.802.5555, HornaceksGolf.com.

Dr. Aubrey Young

Dr. Aubrey Young is an orthodontist at Chamberlain-Young Orthodontics. Her passion is creating beautiful smiles for her patients with her amazing team. Dr. Young is the mother of two boys, ages 16 and 14, and a Yorkshire terrier, age 6. The joy of her life is to spend time with family and friends doing just about anything her boys can dream up! For Christmas she likes to focus on “gifts that keep on giving.” This year she has chosen to give the gift of smiles, the gift of time with friends over a warm drink, the gift of health with homemade bath salts, and the gift of light with a cozy candle.

On my gift-giving list this year:

A warm drink, available at any coffee shop (her favorite: Peixoto Coffee, 11 W. Boston St., 480.275.2843, PeixotoCoffee.com); approx. $5.

Michelle Glicksman

Michelle Glicksman is the editor of Chandler Lifestyle. When she’s not crafting words or editing copy, she likes to spend time with her family and friends, read a good book, or explore new places. Her favorite thing is to hear her children laugh. She likes to find meaning in giving gifts, so chose ones that either support locals or benefit a cause that helps others.
