Sibley’s West to Double Space in Downtown Chandler

Sibley’s West, the 5-year-old gift shop that features unique Arizona items, has announced plans to double the size of its store in Downtown Chandler.

Peixoto Coffee Named Business of the Year by Downtown Chandler Community Partnership

During the June 16 Annual Meeting for Downtown Chandler Community Partnership,  Peixoto Coffee was named Downtown Chandler Business of the Year.

The award, which is voted on by community members, was given to Sibley’s West, the Chandler and Arizona Gift Shop last year. During this year’s Annual Meeting, John and Michelle Sibley of Sibley’s West presented Julia Peixoto-Peters of Peixoto Coffee with the Downtown Chandler Business of the Year banner. In addition, Ed Hines, board president of Downtown Chandler Community Partnership, presented Peters-Peixoto with the award.

Since its opening in January of 2015, Peixoto Coffee, at the southwest corner of Boston St. and Arizona Ave., has quickly become a community favorite in the historic downtown. Husband and wife team, Julia Peixoto-Peters and Jeff Peters operate a unique coffee shop; from crop to cup, the beans never leave the Peixoto family.

The beans are grown at Peters-Peixoto’s parents’ farm, Peixoto Coffee Farm, in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The Brazilian beans arrive at the Downtown Chandler coffee shop, to be roasted by Peters and, finally, made into a work of art by one of the friendly Peixoto Coffee baristas for you to enjoy.

In addition to offering customers a unique cup of joe, the coffee shop owners have quickly become involved with the local community.

“We are very thankful,” Peixoto-Peters says. “We chose Downtown Chandler to be the home for Peixoto Coffee and we cannot think of a more caring, diverse and encouraging community to be a part of.”

5th Annual Back to School Teacher’s Event

Desert Car Care of Chandler celebrates the upcoming 2016-2017 school year with the 5th annual Back to School Teachers Event, taking place on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 8 a.m. to noon at 95 N. Dobson Rd. in Chandler. Teachers work hard to get their classrooms ready for the new school year and on average, they spend up to $500 of their own money each year on supplies. In appreciation of their efforts, Desert Car Care Center of Chandler wants to provide them with some auto service TLC. Their vehicle reliability is important and an oil change and check-up can help.

All teachers with a school I.D. will receive two complimentary services: an oil change which includes 5w20 semi-synthetic oil and filter and a 15 point safety evaluation test.

The event is being offered on a first come, first serve basis. Vouchers will be given for rescheduling if necessary. Teachers will also have the opportunity to win great prizes and car service certificates while enjoying food from The Hungry Monk food truck, refreshments, music and more.
